Gillingham Park
What’s there?
Gillingham Park is a large landscaped park in the centre of Gillingham that offers a lovely green area for ball games and kite flying, level paths for rollerskating or cycling and a fenced childrens playground.
The children’s play area offers 2 sections one for younger vistiors with lower slides and climbing frames, and more complex equipment for older children to climb and explore.
There are public toilets at the South side of the park, towards Canterbury Street, and a small shop across the road. The park is within easy walking distance of Gillingham train station (20 min, 0.8 miles) and the several buses stop on Canterbury street outside the park (116, 132 etc). There is only on street parking around the park on Oxford Road and Park Avenue.

If you walk towards Gillingham town centre the is a High Street offering a number of shops and cafes, a small play park with a pirate ship can be found outside Balmoral Gardens Healthy Living Centre.
Darland Banks, a chalk nature reserve and Luton Rec are within a 20 minute walk; towards Corporation Street and then down Ash Tree Lane.
Hilly fields offers a large open green space and some great play equipment and is just over 1 mile from Gilligham Park
Grange Road Cemetery a lovely open green space with a play area is just over 1 mile from the park.

This park has lots of flat smooth paths running around it, perfect for little ones to practice riding their bikes, skating and scooting safely.

There is some seating here but it is best to bring your own picnic blanket, just in case.
